Sahuliyat Kashmir Voluntary Trust (SKVT) Continues its Mission to Promote Education in Baramulla’s Dudbug Village
On August 25th, 2024, Sahuliyat Kashmir Voluntary Trust (SKVT) successfully conducted its ongoing initiative, “Alim Chu Noor (Education is Light),” in Dudbug Village, Baramulla District. This program, which has been running since 2022, aims to create sustainable awareness about the importance of education and the value of volunteering in social work. The event highlighted the necessity of education in transforming communities, particularly in areas with low literacy rates.
Based on a survey conducted by SKVT’s district coordinator team, Dudbug Village had a literacy rate of only 4% when the program was first initiated. In response, SKVT has been working diligently to promote education in the community, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to basic education. During the event, educational materials were distributed among needy and deserving children, further encouraging the pursuit of education.
The organization remains committed to its mission of “Education for All,” with a vision to support as many students as possible. The goal is that every child in Dudbug Village attains at least a 12th-grade education.
Sahuliyat Kashmir expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors who have supported SKVT’s programs. Their contributions are making a significant impact on the lives of many and helping build a brighter future for the children of Baramulla.
